Frequently asked questions
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
Not in Private mode: the AI model downloads to your browser once, then removes backgrounds entirely on your device. Online mode sends the photo to our server, which returns the cut-out and does not store it.
Why does Private mode not work on my device?
The AI needs a fair amount of memory. The tool tries a smaller model when the larger one fails, and if none can run on your device it offers Online mode instead.
Can I free up the space the Private model uses?
Yes. Choose Delete downloaded model at the top of the tool. You can download it again any time.
Why is my very large photo slightly smaller after the cut-out?
Some browsers cannot draw images above about 16.7 megapixels, so larger photos are scaled to just under that limit. The tool tells you when this happens.
