Which time zone is the target date read in?
Your own. The date and time you enter are interpreted in whatever zone your device is set to, and the countdown is the gap between that local moment and your device clock. Open the same countdown on a device in another zone and it will reach zero at a different instant.
What happens once the date passes?
The card flips to counting up. Its heading changes to "Time since <your event name>" and the same four numbers keep growing from zero — nothing ever shows a negative value, and the countdown is not removed.
Are my countdowns saved anywhere?
Only in this browser, under local storage. They survive a reload and a closed tab, but they are not sent anywhere and will not appear in another browser, on another device, or in a private window.
Does it drift if I leave the tab in the background?
No. Each tick recalculates the gap from your clock rather than subtracting one second from the last figure, so a tab that was throttled or asleep for an hour shows the correct remaining time on its very next update.
