Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between AP and Chicago title case?

Both capitalize the first and last word and the word after a colon or dash, and both lowercase short articles (a, an, the) and conjunctions (and, but, or). They differ on prepositions: AP/APA capitalizes any word of four or more letters (From, With, Between), while Chicago/MLA lowercases every preposition however long (from, with, between).

Can sentence case find names and places?

No. Sentence case lowercases everything except the first word of each sentence, standalone "I" and words you keep as acronyms, so proper nouns such as London or Anna need to be capitalized by hand afterwards.

What does Keep acronyms do?

Words written entirely in capitals with two or more letters, like NASA or HTML, are left as they are in Sentence, Capitalized and Title case. Turn it off when your text is all caps and you want it fully converted.

How are camelCase and snake_case words split?

The text is split on spaces, punctuation, lowercase-to-uppercase humps and runs of capitals, so getHTTPResponse becomes get_http_response. Apostrophes are dropped (don't becomes dont) and each line is converted on its own, so line breaks stay put.
